ABOUT NEW ORLEANS
New Orleans does not do weddings like anywhere else.
Iron balconies, candlelit courtyards, second line parades, and a city that treats celebration as a way of life.
I shoot weddings in New Orleans the way the city demands. Loose, alive, tuned in to the spontaneous moment. Ceremonies in the French Quarter courtyards of the Pharmacy Museum, receptions in the grand ballrooms of the Ace Hotel, second line processions through the streets of the Garden District. Every venue here carries the city's character into the frame.
New Orleans rewards photographers who know when to stop planning and let the city take over. I know the light in the French Quarter at different hours. I know what the Garden District looks like in late afternoon. Give me your venue and your date and I will show you what it can do.

My approach in New Orleans

Cinematic, unhurried,
always honest.
I don't direct. I observe, anticipate, and disappear into the background until the light and the emotion align. Then I'm exactly where I need to be.
New Orleans light is warm, layered, and unpredictable in the best way. The filtered afternoon coming through the live oaks of Audubon Park. The candlelit glow of a French Quarter courtyard at night. The flat overcast that turns everything soft and cinematic. I build every timeline around those moments so the city shows up in your photos the way it actually feels.
My work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times, Over The Moon, and Magnolia Rouge. I've been named one of Rangefinder's 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography.

"We got married in the French Quarter and JL felt like a local. He knew every shadow, every courtyard, every corner where the light lands right. The photos are exactly New Orleans and exactly us."
