ABOUT LISBON
Lisbon is one of Europe's great kept secrets.
Terracotta rooftops, azulejo tiles, Atlantic light and a city that feels intimate even when it is beautiful.
Lisbon draws couples who want Europe without the crowds. Quinta estates above the Tagus, private palaces in Sintra, rooftop ceremonies in Alfama with the river below, intimate elopements in the cobblestone streets of Bairro Alto at dusk. The city is small enough to feel personal and layered enough to surprise you at every turn.
I shoot weddings and elopements here the way the city rewards being seen slowly. Patient, close, tuned in to the light that comes off the river in the late afternoon and turns everything in Lisbon gold. Whether you are planning a full destination wedding or an elopement for two, Lisbon will give you images that hold their feeling for a long time.

My approach in Lisbon

Cinematic, unhurried,
always honest.
I don't direct. I observe, anticipate, and disappear into the background until the light and the emotion align. Then I'm exactly where I need to be.
Lisbon light is some of the best in Europe. The Atlantic proximity keeps it clean and directional. The late afternoon bounces off the Tagus and floods the old city in a way that photographers travel specifically to find. I plan every timeline around those windows so you get the light without chasing it.
My work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times, Over The Moon, and Magnolia Rouge. I've been named one of Rangefinder's 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography.

"Lisbon was everything we hoped for and JL understood the city like a local. He knew where the light would land at every hour. The photos feel like the best version of a day that was already perfect."
