Cartagena Wedding Photographer

ABOUT CARTAGENA

Cartagena moves at its own pace.
Bougainvillea spilling over colonial walls, Caribbean light, and an old city that has been setting the scene for romance for five hundred years.

Cartagena is one of the most visually rich places I've worked, and one of the most demanding. The heat, the humidity, the midday glare off whitewashed walls all require a photographer who knows how to read light fast. I've shot weddings at Casa Pombo, elopements in the cobblestone streets of Getsemani, and celebrations on private terraces above the Ciudad Amurallada. Intimate ceremony or full destination wedding, Cartagena delivers images that feel timeless.

My approach in Cartagena

Cinematic, unhurried,
always honest.

I don't direct. I observe, anticipate, and move through the day ahead of the emotion. And I'm exactly where I need to be when it arrives.

Cartagena has specific demands: the golden light lands early before the heat kills it, the narrow streets of the walled city create beautiful deep shadows by late afternoon, and the magic hour over the Caribbean comes fast and goes faster. I build every timeline here around those windows so you get the light and the moment without having to think about it.

My work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times, Over The Moon, and Magnolia Rouge. I've been named one of Rangefinder's 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography.

AS SEEN IN

"Cartagena is already the most beautiful place I have ever been. JL made it feel personal. Every photo looks like a painting and feels like us."
