ABOUT BROOKLYN WEDDINGS

Brooklyn doesn’t need to be dressed up.
It already has everything. Industrial light, rooftop skylines, cobblestone streets, and a creative energy unlike anywhere else in New York.

Brooklyn weddings call for a photographer who knows the borough intimately. Every room, every rooftop, every hour of light. I've shot ceremonies at the Greenpoint Loft and Wythe Hotel, receptions at the Brooklyn Grange, elopements in backyard gardens, and late-night dinners at the Glasserie. I know which corner of Bushwick catches the best afternoon light, where Red Hook opens up to the harbor at dusk, and exactly when to position myself near Prospect Park for the shot no one planned for. Show me your venue and I'll show you what it's capable of.

My approach in Brooklyn

Cinematic, unhurried,
always honest.

I don't direct. I observe, anticipate, and disappear into the background until the light and the emotion align. And then I'm exactly where I need to be.

Brooklyn has light that changes by the hour. The warm afternoon flooding through a Williamsburg loft, the blue-grey dusk over the Manhattan Bridge from DUMBO, the low glow of a candlelit ceremony in a converted warehouse. I've spent years learning how each neighborhood reveals itself, and I build every timeline around that knowledge.

My work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, The New York Times, Over The Moon, and Magnolia Rouge. I've been named one of Rangefinder's 30 Rising Stars of Wedding Photography.

AS SEEN IN

"JL knows Brooklyn the way a local does. He found light in our Greenpoint loft that we didn't even know existed. Every photo feels like it was made for us."
