Black Cuillin ridges, sea lochs, ancient castles, and a light that shifts from silver to gold to nothing in the space of an hour.
Skye draws couples who want something that feels genuinely remote and genuinely cinematic. Elopements on the Quiraing as the mist clears. Ceremonies at the ruins of Dunscaith Castle above the water. Intimate weddings in converted crofts and estate lodges with nothing but the hills outside. Portraits at the Fairy Pools at first light before anyone else arrives. This island rewards photographers who know where to go and when to be there.
I've shot on Skye knowing that the weather and the light are the whole story. You plan for what you want and you stay flexible for what the island gives you. What it gives you is almost always better.
My approach on the Isle of Skye
Cinematic, unhurried,

I don't direct. I observe, anticipate, and disappear into the background until the light and the emotion align. Then I'm exactly where I need to be.
Skye light is unlike anywhere else. The island sits at the edge of the Atlantic and the weather moves through fast. A flat grey morning can break into extraordinary directional light within minutes. Rain on the Cuillin creates atmosphere that no clear sky ever matches. I build every Skye timeline with flexibility built in so that when the island does something unexpected, we are positioned to use it.
